Music for the Ages

Rock and Roll Heaven and JST KLSX Founder

Mason L. Ramsey (1956 – 2025)

Mason L. Ramsey, known affectionately as Mason, dad, and awpaw passed away peacefully on the 17th of July, 2025, at his residence in Ocala, Florida, surrounded by the love of his wife. Born on the 1st of September, 1956, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Mason brought joy and laughter to all who knew him throughout his 68 years of life.

Mason’s journey began as the proud son of Nettie and Harold Neville Jr. His early years in Florida instilled in him a lifelong passion for the ocean’s embrace. Though he was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Donna, Mason’s legacy continues through his beloved sister Peggy Hunt, who remains to honor his memory.

A loving family man, Mason’s heart was ever full with the love for his wife Judi Neville, and his children – Shanna DeAnneLawson, Sharon LaNelle Lee (married to Shane Lee), ShaylanRamsey Neville, and Misti Holsinger. His joy was multiplied as he embraced the role of grandfather to Amber Lawson (Shane Willis), Allen Lawson, Samantha Hardy, Kaytlan Neville, Isabella Lee, Jackson Lee, Savannah Young, Davan Young, Jordyn Holsinger, and Karlie Loustch. Mason gained the title of great-grandfather with the birth of his great-grandson, Liam Swan.

Mason’s career began as a Disc Jockey in a small local radio station near his hometown. His love for music and passion for travel took his radio personality across the airwaves and into many homes as he worked for radio stations across the country. An opportunity to be near the ocean while working in radio took him and his family to Guam. Guam was where Mason became an experienced diver, diving and exploring Guam’s great coral reefs and beautiful underwater caves. His entrepreneurial spirit drove him to become a small business owner running greyhounds and provided boat experiences for tourists visiting Guam.

Moving back to the mainland, Mason became an avid writer and published his book, “Bodies in the Bay” through is own publishing company, Arrow Hunt Publishing. He also found a love for skiing in the slopes of Colorado.

Mason’s professional life was marked by a singular dream: to own his own radio station in the greater Ocala, Florida area. His voice became familiar to many through his online radio station, RockandRollHeaven.net, where he shared his love for music with the world. Mason’s voice, filled with warmth and enthusiasm, continued as a comforting presence for his listeners. His work was not just a career, but a manifestation of his deepest passion.

In addition to his love for radio, Mason’s interest painted the picture of a man who cherished life’s simple pleasures. He was often found basking in the serene beauty of the ocean in the Emerald Coast, where he felt most at peace. His five dogs – Parker, Quincy, River, Remi, and his new little boy, Elmer – were his furbabies, who brought him happiness and companionship.

Mason’s zest for life and his infectious story telling abilities will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His unwavering ability to speak his mind, hold true to his quest for all of life’s knowledge and wisdom served as an inspiration to many. Mason’s memory will continue to resonate in the hearts of his loved ones and the melodies that play on the digital airwaves of his beloved online radio station.

As we bid farewell to Mason, we celebrate a life well-lived, a dream realized, and a legacy of love, music and family that will echo for generations to come. Mason, the man, the legend, is rockin’ and rollin’ in heaven with the greats.

Welcome To Rock And Roll Heaven

Hello Rock and Roll Family, Friends, Fans, and Associates of JST KLSX (Just Classics)

We’re so glad to see you here!  With Mason’s passing, we’ve entered another period of transition for both the website and the station. Mason devoted more than 30 years to building JST KLSX and Rock and Roll Heaven into what they are today — and if you knew Mason, you know how big his dreams were for this project.

As Mason’s friend and engineer, I don’t want to see his life’s work and dreams fade away or be forgotten. That’s why I made the decision to pick up the mantle and continue carrying Mason’s vision forward.

JST KLSX and Rock and Roll Heaven will keep rocking on, keeping the spirit of Mason’s dream alive. And in true Mason fashion, there are always Big Plans on the Horizon for both the station and the website.

Stay tuned for a brand-new website, new voices, and new shows launching at the start of the new year.

Thank you for listening — and for keeping the music and the dream alive.
